About Me
Hello Olds Elementary!
I am so excited to be your music teacher. I believe that music captures many hidden talents in every individual. I decided to study music education in college after a professor of mine said,
"Everyone can listen to music and have favorite songs, lyrics, melodies, and musicians. A true music educator will inspire their students to be those creating their own favorite songs, lyrics, and melodies to become great musicians."
I attended college at SUNY Fredonia where I studied instrumental music education with piano as my instrumental major. In college I was involved in Jazz Ensemble, All College Band, Wind Symphony, Percussion Ensemble, 2010 and 2011 Concerto Competition, and my own 4 piece Jazz Ensemble. I also was the main accompanist for over 25 college students and professors each semester. I believe that all students should be exposed to the various forms of creating and performing music-for being well rounded in many different forms of art, paints a pathway for our youth's future.
These are a few of my favorite things...
Purple
Lime green
Playing Trombone
Chex Mix
Dark Chocolate
Chap Stick
Games
My Cat
Lollipops
Surfing
Mountain Biking
Hiking
Wake boarding
Cooking
Ballet
