Internet Safety
Digital and social media are embedded in our culture. In WCPSS, we adhere strictly to Internet safety rules. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has produced a “Parent’s Internet Guide to Safety,” which is available at http://www.fbi.gov/publications/pguide/pguidee.htm, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has produced a series of documents for educators on Internet safety, available at http://www.netsmartz.org/Parents. Please share any particular concerns you may have about individual students’ Internet activities with the appropriate school-based administrators.
In accordance with Board Policy 2313/3013/4013 and the 21st Century Act (Public Law No: 110:385, Oct. 10, 2008) all students will be trained annually in Internet safety. School districts are required to educate students about:
