Homework will generally be given Monday through Thursday. Students are responsible for keeping up with and bringing homework assignments home each night. Our third grade students have been given a school planner to write all homework and assignments in each day. The students are responsible for keeping up with this planner and bringing it each day to class. Using the planner is a way the students can demonstrate taking notes and writing directions. They will be given an opportunity to write assignments in their planners daily. Parents should sign their child’s planner each night to be aware of daily assignments. Children are expected to turn in math homework daily and reading comprehension packet on Friday.
On an average week students will have:
-Math: Monday through Thursday; due next day
-Reading comprehension packet per week; due by Friday
-Twenty minutes of reading
The only homework expected over the weekends or holidays are projects and make-up work. Make-up work is defined as assignments missed due to being absent from school.
Students are expected to read at least 20 minutes each night along with their other homework. We will provide a reading log in their data notebooks to record the books they have read.
All homework should be turned in on time. If homework is late due to illness or family emergency, please send in a note.
