Olds! Good Morning. Welcome back to school. This is Dr. Wheeler, your principal at Olds Elementary. I will be sharing a message from Mrs. Janice Lu who will begin teaching here at Olds today. She will be replacing Mrs. Kasper who retired right before the break. Mrs. Lu will be teaching a kindergarten homeroom, a kindergarten flex math group, and a K/1 flex reading group.
The following message is from Mrs. Lu. Hi, I am Mrs. Lu and I am your child's teacher. I am excited to get to know you and your child this year and to work together to help the children be successful in the classroom. I have a B.S. in English Literature, an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and a masters degree in teaching from NCSU. I currently hold an NC teaching license in K-6 education. I believe each child is created special and deserves the very best education possible. It is my job to meet the needs of every student in the classroom, including both academic needs and social/emotional needs. I set high expectations for my students because I know they will grow to meet these expectations. I also believe that learning should be fun. Therefore, much of the learning will be through hands on experiences and work with their peers. Your child will learn through doing, seeing, tasting, hearing and trying new things. We will have a lot of fun each day! I know you will join me in welcoming Mrs. Lu to our school. Happy New Year! |
We are thankful for our wonderful students, staff, parents, and school community!
